Unzip the file, open chrome://extensions, switch on Developer mode and choose "Load unpacked" with the unzipped folder.
Ad and tracker requests are stopped in the network layer, and the empty ad slots left behind are hidden.
Pre-roll and mid-roll are removed before the player loads them. Anything that slips through is skipped and muted.
Off, Balanced or Strict on any site, straight from the toolbar — loosen it where a site needs ads to work.

Strips tracking tags like utm, fbclid and gclid from the links you open, so they stop reporting back.

Load it into Chrome
Unzip the download, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click "Load unpacked" and pick the folder. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc.
Pin Quiet to your toolbar
Click the puzzle-piece icon and pin Quiet. The little number on the icon shows how many ads and trackers it just stopped on the page.
Set the strength per site
Open the popup on any site and pick Off, Balanced or Strict. Balanced is the default everywhere, and YouTube pre-rolls are gone out of the box.
